mission interpretation-telling a story of mission

Telling Stories of Mission are a dynamic feature of stewardship, often called Mission Interpretation, these stories help congregants and members understand the transformational impact of the offering; how giving makes a real difference in people’s lives.

Mission Interpreters are excellent communicators who delight in sharing stories that reveal how the ELCA’s mission and ministry is accomplished within their congregations. Consider becoming involved with Mission Interpretation if you:

  • feel called to tell others about mission and ministry;
  • have strong verbal and written communication skills;
  • actively support an ELCA congregation; and
  • are willing to receive special training for telling stories of faith in action.

For more information about Mission Interpretation, becoming a Mission Interpreter, and to share stories about your congregation post a story through our Communications page in the Stories in Demand section or contact: Karen Johnson Kretschmann, [email protected]
