Our 2021 LYO Virtual Small Groups theme is:
Beyond Grace: Now What?
God’s grace means unconditional love for us and care for all of God’s Creation. We are named and claimed by God, made part of God’s family, forgiven, redeemed, and daily raised to new life in Jesus Christ.
But what does that grace mean for us now, in our lives? For our future? For our relationships with diverse neighbors? For the way we learn? For how we are called to serve? Come, join the conversation, as together we explore grace and all that comes from it together.
Small groups will meet over Zoom from 6:30-7:30 p.m. on Monday nights between February 8-March 8. To participate in a small group, please register using this form by February 1, 2021.

High School Leadership Event
Retreat for youth in grades 8-12 during the 2019-2020 year

2019-2020 Service Project
We are assembling School Kits for Lutheran World Relief to send to Refugee Camps all over the world. We have participated in this project for the past two years, and will continue this year.
Here is the complete list of items:
- 70-sheet notebooks of wide- or college-ruled paper, approximately 8″ x 10 ½”; no loose leaf paper (four of these go in every school kit!)
- 30-centimeter ruler, or a ruler with centimeters on one side and inches on the other
- pencil sharpener
- pair of blunt scissors (safety scissors with embedded steel blades work well)
- unsharpened #2 pencils with erasers
- black or blue ballpoint pens (no gel ink)
- box of 16 or 24 crayons
- 2 ½” eraser
- sturdy drawstring backpack-style cloth bag, approximately 14” x 17” with shoulder straps (no standard backpacks)
Back to school time is the best time to purchase these items, as they are on sale and available in bulk! All of these items are helpful. However, we specifically ask that every congregation start collecting the following items by name of your congregation:
- A-F – crayon boxes (5 per participant)
- G-N – scissors (5 per participant)
- O-S (including “Saints”) – drawstring bags (5 per participant)
- T-Z – rulers (10 per participant)
We will gladly receive donations from any congregation or ministry! If you are not sending participants to FreeRide or RoadTrip, please check with neighboring congregations to find someone who is attending and send your donations along with them. Thank you for helping us make it possible for children around the world to be prepared for their education!
About Our Youth Events
Young people and adult leaders from across our synod gather for a weekend of fun, Bible study, service, worship, and community building in large groups as well as smaller ones. Each day ends with Family Time, an opportunity for prayer and reflection. We offer separate events for Middle and High School youth.
For cancellations received by the check postmark date, the non-refundable deposit may be returned.
For cancellations received between the check postmark date and three weeks before the event begins, non-refundable deposits are forfeited and the remaining balance of the fee is forgiven. A refund will be issued if the balance has already been paid. Substitutions and additions can be made at the event registrar’s discretion.
For cancellations received within three weeks of the event start date, participants are responsible for the full balance.
