Techies Wanted!
The DE-MD Synod Assembly Tech Team is creating a database of volunteers to assist with the technical side of the Synod Assembly. This database will be used to fill the available positions at each Synod Assembly and to provide potential replacements in case selected personnel decide to end their service or have an emergency and cannot fulfill their volunteer position. Selected volunteers are provided a room and meals during the Synod Assembly.
If you have skills in any of the areas listed below and would be willing to volunteer time at the Synod Assembly (or serve as an “understudy” for the currently filled positions), please send an e-mail to techteam@demdsynod.org. Include your name, e-mail address, phone number and experience for the position(s).
We currently have a camera operator, server operator and still camera operator for the 2011 Synod Assembly. If you are interested in one or more of the positions and will be at the 2011 Synod Assembly, please stop by the Tech Team table and introduce yourself.
Also, the Tech Team is looking for youth and young adults to assist assembly delegates in “Laptop Lane” connect their laptops to the internet.
- Computer Operator – uses a computer to select and play audio/video files, select documents, spreadsheets and presentations
- Camera Operator – operates the video camera
- Server Operator – updates the on-site server which provides updates to the
on-site laptop users; should be familiar with SharePoint - Still Camera Operator – takes digital pictures using personal digital SLR
during the convention - Switcher – uses a switcher to control audio volumes, select microphone and video input and direct them to the selected output
- Twitter – sends “tweets” about the Synod Assembly
