A native of the Timonium, MD area, Ed holds a B.S in Kinesiology from the University of Maryland, College Park and an M. Div from the Lutheran Theological Seminary in Philadelphia. He is also a graduate of the Youth Ministry Certification School (LTS Gettysburg).
Prior to attending seminary, Ed served his home congregation of Ascension Lutheran Church (Towson, MD) as the Director of Youth & Family Ministry. Since then, he has served as a pastor of Epiphany Lutheran Church (Baltimore) and the Coordinator of Youth + Family Ministry for the DE-MD Synod.
Ed has a passion for connecting individuals and churches to the mission of the wider Church, and looks forward to bringing that enthusiasm to his new role in the synod. He is also excited about continuing the growth of the synod’s youth events and the development of the high school leadership program, the LYO.

Ed continues to make his home in Timonium with his wife, Lisa, and their daughters, Abigail & Nora, along with their three cats. They spend their free time exploring the zoo and children’s museums, and look forward to family vacations at the beach each summer.
