Verse of the Day 5/21/2012

[A Church Divided Over Leaders] I appeal to you, brothers and sisters, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree with one another in what you say and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly united in mind and thought. — 1 Corinthians 1:10

Celebrate Lay Ministry!

Celebrate Lay Ministry!
The 15th Annual Delaware-Maryland Synod and
Social Ministry Organizations’ Awards for Significant Ministry

The Celebrate Lay Ministry! initiative annually recognizes lay Lutheran ministry in the Delaware-Maryland Synod.

Developed and coordinated by the Office of the Bishop of the Delaware-Maryland Synod, ELCA, and affiliated Social Ministry Organizations, the goal is to give recognition and show appreciation to the many examples of significant lay ministry in our communities.

Only lay persons are eligible, not clergy; only one person, group, or congregation can be chosen per conference; only one nomination is allowed from a nominator; and all nominations must be received by February 24, 2012. Please view the complete Award Criteria for more information.

All nominations must be submitted through the online Nomination Form. The winners will be selected by the Award Committee.

Awards will be given at the annual awards dinner, to be held on Sunday, April 29, 2012 at 4:00 pm, at Carroll Lutheran Village in Westminster, Maryland. Those who want to attend the Award Dinner will need to complete the online Dinner RSVP Form.
