Verse of the Day 5/21/2012

[A Church Divided Over Leaders] I appeal to you, brothers and sisters, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree with one another in what you say and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly united in mind and thought. — 1 Corinthians 1:10

DAART

The Definitely Abled Advocacy Resource Team is working in the area of disability ministry to raise awareness and provide resources to congregations seeking to be more accessible and fully inclusive to individuals of all abilities.

Our mission is to encourage and equip all congregations to become places where all people – especially those with physical, developmental, and mental disabilities – will feel welcome and find meaningful opportunities to participate fully in the community of God.

We believe that we are all created and loved by God and as His people we are to love one another just as we are.

At the 2011 Delaware-Maryland Synod Assembly a resolution calling for Disability Awareness Sunday on February 12, 2012 was submitted by DAART. It passed unanimously. DAART members (aka the DAART Board) are in the process of contacting all congregations in the synod by telephone to conduct a brief survey about Disability Awareness Sunday and to learn what congregations are currently doing in the area of accessibility and full inclusion. If for any reason we have been unable to contact your congregation, we invite you to complete the survey online.
