Mission and Vision
The ADLA-DMS promotes and develops important linkages, builds regional support, identifies social problems, focuses on economic and political issues, develops related strategies, and provides a forum for theological reflections for clergy and lay members.
ADLA-DMS also serves as an information resource for its members and strives to develop leaders in the African, African American and African Descent community to become involved in the mainstream of the Delaware/Maryland Synod and ELCA Multicultural Ministry Unit.
ADLA-DMS pledges to work in partnership with the Delaware/Maryland Synod and the ELCA Multicultural Ministry Unit in its efforts to assist the church in reaching full partnership and participation of African, African Americans and others of African descent.
Annual Events
The ADLA-DMS sponsors the ADLA-DMS Prayer Breakfast the third week in October and the Martin Luther King Celebration in January.
Organizational Structure
The ADLA-DMS is a recognized chapter of the National African American Lutherans Association, a 501 (c)(3) tax exempt organization. The National African American Lutherans Association is a ministry recognized by the ELCA Multicultural Ministry Unit.
