Youth events are large-group gatherings of young people and their adult advisors from across the Synod for a weekend of fun, singing, Bible study, service, worship, and group building. Young people are strengthened in their own faith by seeing other youth from the wider Church and making connections with them in small groups throughout the weekend. Large group gatherings bring energy and excitement with praise & worship music and thought-provoking youth & adult speakers. Adults have the opportunities to recharge their spirit and/or engage in workshop discussions. And Family Time brings each church together as a group at the end of the day to reflect and pray with one another.

Cancellation policy
The following cancellation policy applies for all DE-MD Synod Youth Events, including FreeRide, RoadTrip, the Unlikely Leaders Retreat, and the High School Leadership Event.
Please understand that the Synod has hard costs that relate to the number of people who register for any given event. If someone cancels their registration, we oftentimes still have to pay those costs.
Additionally, many of the event staff are volunteers, and making final preparations for the events are time consuming and must be fit in between school, work, and family commitments. Making last minute changes disrupts this process, and can oftentimes cause materials to be reprinted once the work has already been done.
That being the case, we’ve put these policies in place:
- If someone is in need of canceling their retreat or event registration and does so prior to three weeks before the start of the event, they will forfeit their non-refundable deposit but will not be responsible for the remaining balance. For those who have paid their balance, the difference will be refunded to the church or the individual as desired. Substitutions and additions can still be made made during this time.
- Within three weeks of the event, we are unable to refund the registration fee and any remaining balance will be added to the congregation’s final invoice. Substitutions and additions can only be made as space and timing with the venue allows, at the discretion of the event registrar.
