
Preaching Conference
Dr. David J. Lose of Luther Seminary, St. Paul, Minnesota, will be leading a Preaching Conference Monday, April 16th for Clergy and Lay Rostered Leaders of Delaware-Maryland Synod at Ascension Lutheran Church, 7601 york Road, Towson, Maryland. Conference times 8:30AM-3:30PM. The theme – “Preaching Ourselves Into Mark’s Gospel” – will feature four presentations: The Storied Nature of Our Lives, Making Mark’s Story our Own, The Gospel of Mark as Good News and Evening News, and Following Mark (and John) Through the Lectionary. The cost of the conference is $95.00 per registrant, including refreshments and lunch. Overnight accommodations can be made at the Sheraton North Baltimore, Towson, at a Group Rate of $109.00. Dr. Lose is the Marbury E. Anderson Chair in Biblical Preaching at Luther Seminary and author of Making Sense of the Cross (2011). He speaks widely in the United States and abroad on biblical preaching, Christian faith in a postmodern world, and biblical interpretation.
On Sunday evening, April 15th, prior to the Preaching Conference, Dr. Lose will speak at a forum for lay and rostered leaders at Ascension Lutheran Church, York Road, Towson, at 5PM. His theme will be “The Challenge of Being Church Today.”
