BAPTISM IS WET ... and, on occasion, muddy as well. The Rev. Bill Gohl, pastor of Epiphany Lutheran Church in Baltimore, and Bishop Wolfgang D. Herz-Lane presided at three adult baptisms and several Affirmations of Baptism in the Saltpeter Creek in Middle River, Md. this summer. Someone joked that after this holy experience, the muddy and rocky creek ought to be renamed "St. Peter Creek."
